The Human Resources & Organizational Development Department is looking for a HR Analyst to join their team. The HR Analyst will primarily work on compensation, monthly and semi-monthly payroll, employee benefits program including group benefits and pension, HR budgeting and other HR operations-related activities. In addition, the HR Analyst will also assist in the areas of HRIS (Dayforce), data analytics and recruitment & selection and work with the VP of HR & OD on new HR projects to enhance the level of HR & OD services provided to the Bank.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform key roles in compensation programs (Payroll, Benefit & Pension)
  • Ensure accurate employee records and changes (e.g., new hires, salary changes, position changes, terminations, including issuing the record of employment) are inputted and maintained accurately and timely in the Ceridian HRIS and its payroll database
  • Maintain HRIS and HR records and perform data analysis
  • Assist in maintaining the mandates and job descriptions of the Bank on a regular basis
  • Calculate and verify each payroll, creating employee files and general filing of employee information and pay period back up
  • Process new hires, terminations, employee changes (address, dependents and bank information), pay rate changes, promotions, deductions, commissions, bonuses and benefit changes.
  • Conduct a quarterly payroll reconciliation as self-audit
  • Prepare year-end employee tax slips or forms and submit government filings in a timely manner to meet deadlines
  • Group benefits administration – monthly premium payment and reconciliation, new member registration, membership termination, update member information on the sponsor system, etc.
  • Coordinate full cycle recruitment and selection process for various positions including creating job postings, interview questions, sourcing candidates, conducting pre-screening and interviews, running background checks and preparing offers
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding activities on the internal system, payroll and Employee Benefits Program
  • Monitor and analyze expenses against the payroll budget to help prepare cost forecasts and budgets
  • Conduct research and market analysis of pay practices and salary/bonus/incentive structures, present research findings to the VP, HR & OD, and administer increases upon approval
  • Assist with preparing responses to oversight functions of the Bank (Risk, Compliance, and Audit)
  • Prepare and coordinate regular reporting related to area of work to Parent Bank and regulatory bodies as required
  • Cross-train as a backup to other HR team members
  • Assist in any new projects and initiatives taken on by the department and the Bank as required
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required, with focus in HR or related field
  • CHRP designation, completed or in progress, is preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant HR experience working with all levels across an organization
  • 2-3 years of experience in processing semi-monthly and monthly payroll of 100 employees or greater more is a must
  • Must have experience with Ceridian HRIS - payroll
  • Solid knowledge of relevant employment-related legislation
  • 2-3 years of payroll relevant accounting experience in analysis and reconciliations; Knowledge of accounting principles is considered an asset
  • High level of expertise in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • High level of discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality with highly sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently well within a team, multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to manage workload, communicate with teams in a fast-paced work setting
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to remain flexible to withstand unpredictable changes to schedule and deadlines
  • Bilingual in English and Korean
  • Legally able to work in Canada
